2016 PMA SUMMER READING PROGRAM

Participation in the summer reading program is mandatory for all students entering grades 1 through 8.  Much care has been taken to assure that the expectations for each grade are appropriate to the students entering that grade and provide for the different reading levels and interests of the youngsters, as well as literary value.

At each grade level, there is a list from which students will select the books to read.  There is also some type of report that they must complete for some or all of the books they will read.

For your convenience throughout the summer, all the lists, requirements, and forms needed for each grade, which will be posted at the start of summer vacation on the hompage of the website.

Upon our return to school for the 2016 – 2017 school year, your child must bring the completed reading assignments to his/her teacher during the first week of school (August 31 – Sept. 3).  Your child’s work will be graded on the completion and the quality of the work handed in.  The mark will become part of the first quarter grade for reading/literature.
