9.21.2014 Registration for Cheer and CYO Basketball

The Registration Period for Cheer and CYO Basketball has begun (Instructional Basketball for Grades Pre-K – Grade 2 will be announced soon)! The Registration Period ends on Friday, October 3.

Don’t let the two week registration period fool you, spaces are filling very fast and basketball teams have a firm limit of roster spots that we will not exceed. At the end of day on Monday, some teams may already be full. When a team or squad fills up, I will send an email out.

Attached are the forms to register for CYO Basketball and Cheerleading. All forms and payment must be complete and together to register your child. Medical forms and Code of Conduct forms DO need to be filled out, even if you did them for Fall sports.

Please Note: Only CYO Basketball and CYO Mites Cheer (grades 3 – 5) require the Player Participation Forms, totaling 4 forms; Jr. Cheer Exhibition Squad and Competition Cheer Squad do not and only need three forms.

Second graders wishing to play CYO Basketball should submit the forms only (please don’t pay at this point) to show their interest. After the registration period is over, we will see how many spaces (if any) are still open and then contact the people in the order that forms came in. The reason is that 3rd and 4th graders get first crack at registering because this is the only basketball program at PMA for them. The 2nd graders can still play Instructional Basketball if they do not get onto a CYO team.

9.16.2014 Sports Update

Hello Everyone,

1) Unfortunately, today’s Cross Country meet at Windham has been canceled due to a major bee infestation at their course. Perhaps we can reschedule for later this fall when the bees have simmered down. On the bright side, this will give the runners an extra day of practice as they prepare for Thursdays’ meet at Hampstead Middle School (dismissal time: 2:05 p.m.).

2) The Sr. Griffin Soccer teams have their Opening Day double-header at home today (Tuesday, Sept. 16) vs. Nashua Catholic. The girls team plays at 3:30 p.m., to be followed by the boys team at 5:00 p.m. Please come out and cheer on these hard working teams!

3) Please remember that our Information & Registration Night for both Cheerleading (grades 1 – 8) AND our CYO Basketball (grades 3 – 8; grade 2 by tryout and by space available) is this Thursday, September 18 @ 6:30 p.m.

Cheerleading will meet in the gym and Basketball will meet in Alumni Hall (2nd floor auditorium). Please look for a separate email soon (by Wednesday noon) regarding the practice and general competition/exhibition/game times so that you will know if you can fully commit to these programs.

If you have any questions about these topics or anything sports, please email Ed Goss at – Thank you!

9.16.2014 Cross Country Practice

9.10.2014 Guitar Lessons

Crash Course Guitar Lessons With Chris Tompkins

Guitar Lesson Registration Form (PDF)

Bio: Chris Tompkins is a 17-year-old guitarist currently attending Bishop Guertin High School. Chris picked up his first guitar at the young age of two and immediately showed a passion for his gift. Chris started private lessons at the age of nine. Chris attended The Real School of Music in Burlington, Massachusetts from 2010-2013 and has advanced to privately studying music theory. His hope is to attend Berkley School of Music in Boston, Massachusetts after graduation. Chris is a very versatile player and teaches a wide variety of guitar styles, as well as music theory.

Description: A group of up to three students per lesson. Each student will be learning the basic fundamentals of acoustic and/or electric guitar. As they progress, the level of difficulty will progress to meet the needs of each individual student.
For the first lesson, you’ll want to bring two things. First is your guitar, it can be acoustic or electric. If it’s electric you won’t need to bring in an amp or cord. Second, you will need a spiral notebook, just a regular one that you would use in school.
One note, if you are planning on buying a guitar for a child, 11 or younger, I would recommend a three quarter size or even half size guitar, acoustic or electric. It will be a lot more manageable for smaller kids.

Age Requirement: Ages 6+
Start date: September 15, 2014
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Hours: 2:45-3:45
Price: $35 per/hr. Please make checks out to PMA-Guitar Lessons

Cancelation policy: All sessions can be rescheduled with twenty-four hour notice for cancelation. In the event I need to cancel, I will notify you twenty-four hours in advance and session will be rescheduled for a mutually agreed upon day.

9.10.2014 Before/After school charges with Smart Tuition

As explained in our Tuition Letter, this year we are happy to be partnering with Smart Tuition for the processing and collection of tuition, after school fees and fundraising fee for the 2014-2015 school year. Smart Tuition offers us the potential of collecting all school related fees through one plan – this will save you from writing many checks. Below are a few items to review regarding your Smart Tuition Account.

We are excited to provide online billing through Smart Tuition this year. As in the past, Before/After school charges will show weekly. We will cut off the billing on the 15th of each month and the prior 4 weeks will be due the following month. (Example: Your October payment will include charges for before/after school for weeks ending 8/28, 9/5 and 9/12.) If you pay your tuition through monthly payments, these charges will be combined with your regular monthly tuition payment. You will have the flexibility to manually make weekly payments on your account by either calling Smart Tuition, make a payment on your mobile device or send a check directly to PMA. Students with delinquent accounts will not be allowed to attend these programs until payment is made.

The annual Smart Tuition fee of $38.00 will be charged with your first monthly charge. (If you are paying your tuition monthly you have already paid this annual fee)

For families who have registered for the Sibling pick up and have not prepaid, your $100.00 charge will be due with your October Smart Tuition payment.

To view all activity and personal information, you may access your account at any time by going to the Smart Tuition website It can also be found on our PMA website/Parent Portal under Tuition/Fees.
**Please note: The website you used to enroll is different than the site for account accessing

Delinquent Payments: Smart Tuition will contact the primary account holder by telephone and email if your account becomes delinquent. A $40.00 fee will be assessed to your account, if your account is not brought current.

Bank Fees: In the event that your payment fails, a $25 Bank Fee will be posted to your account.

You may also call Smart Tuition 24/7, 365 days a year at (888) 868-8828.

For families who will be fundraising throughout the year, I have billed your account in May 2015 for your $300.00. As you purchase gift cards or participate in a designated fundraiser, I will credit the May balance. You will be able to view your progress by logging into your account.

If you have any further questions, please email me at
Thank you,

Donna DesRuisseaux Business Manager
