December 21, 2014 was an exciting basketball game for the Presentation of Mary community. The Junior Mites Maroon and White teams squared off against each other and the fans were on their feet! It was a tale of two halves. The first half was dominated by the White team who owned rebounding and shot great from the floor. The White team had a significant lead at half time with a score of 14-4. Out comes the Maroon team for the second half with tenacious defense and chipped away at the score. The fans were cheering as school mates passed the ball around to each other and kept the energy alive. All Griffins fought hard and the Maroon team made a comeback with a 19-14 victory. All players showed great sportsmanship in both victory and defeat. It was a great day for PMA Athletics!

PMA’s Twelfth Annual Advent Stroll
In order to foster our ever-growing sense of community, we have planned and evening of song and reflection on the true meaning of Christmas. Please join us December 10 at 6:30pm.
Use the main entrance for the school. Due to the rainy weather, we will gather near the gym for prayerful reflection and singing, so bring a joyful heart and singing voice to help us spread Joy to the World. We will follow Mary and Joseph on their journey to Bethlehem and gather around the stable to sing the the Holy Family.
We will gather together for goodies after our stroll. Please bring a dozen cookies (no nuts) to share. We’ll supply the hot cocoa and the song lyrics.

Announcing Battle of the Books! Grades 4 – 6
Do you love to read? Do you wish you had more time to read fun, interesting books, and spend time discussing them with friends? If you answered “YES” to any of these questions, please join us on December 17, 2014, 2:45-3:15 pm, in the library to learn more.
Battle of the Books will begin in January and run until through March. We will meet once a week to discuss a variety of books chosen by Battle of the Books, www.battleofthebooks.com.
Battle of the Books is a reading incentive program designed to encourage students to read quality literature. It was started in the 1930’s as a radio program. Today, this program is used at an individual school level as well as at district levels. Specialists and teachers from around the country spend many hours choosing the books each year.
Please join us in the Library on December 17, 2:45pm, to learn more! See you soon,
Ms. Denise (Library)
The Pre-K Three Year Old classes at PMA got to celebrate Thanksgiving a few days early. The two classes joined together to have a small Thanksgiving feast on Monday, November 24th. The students ate corn bread, pumpkin bread, popcorn and green beans, while learning the three sister foods known to the Native American crops. The students discussed what they were thankful for.

PMA is excited to announce that we are running a PMA Basketball Web Store for the next week to give everyone an opportunity to purchase some PMA Basketball gear for the season. Orders ship directly to the customer. We will be doing this during each of our sports seasons as a way to promote our school and become more consistent with regards to what we are ordering for our teams. We will be running a store for Cheerleading in January as well.
The link to the store is below. The store is only open for a week, so you need to act fast! Items will be shipped to you directly in time for Christmas if you are thinking about gifts. These items are a great way to show PMA Pride at PMA practices and games! Just a reminder that any item purchased cannot be substituted for your child’s gym uniform.
I look forward to meeting everyone out at a game or practice this winter!
Placing your order is only a click away…
