12.25.2014 Jr. Mites Face Each Other

December 21, 2014 was an exciting basketball game for the Presentation of Mary community. The Junior Mites Maroon and White teams squared off against each other and the fans were on their feet! It was a tale of two halves. The first half was dominated by the White team who owned rebounding and shot great from the floor. The White team had a significant lead at half time with a score of 14-4. Out comes the Maroon team for the second half with tenacious defense and chipped away at the score. The fans were cheering as school mates passed the ball around to each other and kept the energy alive. All Griffins fought hard and the Maroon team made a comeback with a 19-14 victory. All players showed great sportsmanship in both victory and defeat. It was a great day for PMA Athletics!

12.4.2014 Basketball Web Store

PMA is excited to announce that we are running a PMA Basketball Web Store for the next week to give everyone an opportunity to purchase some PMA Basketball gear for the season.  Orders ship directly to the customer.  We will be doing this during each of our sports seasons as a way to promote our school and become more consistent with regards to what we are ordering for our teams.  We will be running a store for Cheerleading in January as well.

The link to the store is below.  The store is only open for a week, so you need to act fast!  Items will be shipped to you directly in time for Christmas if you are thinking about gifts. These items are a great way to show PMA Pride at PMA practices and games!  Just a reminder that any item purchased cannot be substituted for your child’s gym uniform.

I look forward to meeting everyone out at a game or practice this winter!

Athletic Director

10.29.2014 Jr. Mites Basketball

Please have your child bring (all of this stays in their locker during school):
Basketball with their name on it (28.5″ is what they use)
Water bottle with their name on it
Comfortable clothes – shorts and t-shirt work best.  On gym days, they should just wear their gym uniform.  Please remember: less time changing means more time to start their homework.
Dismissal Procedure:
1)  Players go down to the locker room with their class and get ALL of their things (coats, lunch boxes, etc.)
2)  Players then come back up to first floor and report to Mrs. Ribeck’s room (last year’s Art Room).
3)  They will have an opportunity for a light snack and get some homework done while players take turns changing.
4)  The teams will be escorted down to the gym for practice.
Picking Up Your Child:
1)  If your child is to go into After Care, please make sure they know that.
2)  In order to not clog up the Pickup Circle, Sr. Maria has asked all afterschool activities to have parents wait in the parking lot.
3)  When you see your child come out, you may proceed to leave the parking lot and enter the Pickup Circle.  OR you can meet them on foot and take them back to your car.
Please pass this info along to any/all who may pick up your child.
1)  Practice time is very important for team success, as it affects not only physical progress, but just as importantly, the team’s cohesiveness.  Also, coaches volunteer their very valuable time to plan these practices.

Please make attendance a priority and let the coaches know when your child cannot attend (Mike Barnhart: ;  Paul Soucy: ).

10.26.2014 Catholic Invitational Meet

We had many victories at our 11th annual Cross Country Invitational meet this past weekend. The 4th & 5th grade girls took 1st place and our 6th – 8th grade girls took 2nd in their respective races.  The boys did great as well! Most runners had Personal Bests and many Top 10 medals went to our own team. If you see a PMA Cross Country runner, give them a high five!
